               AN IMPRESSIVE JAPANESE
               LACQUER CABINET

               The brilliantly detailed two-door cabinet features two shelves
               and both interior and exterior decorated with gold takamaki-e
               and hiramaki-e (techniques of Japanese lacquerwork). The
               detailed design with mother-of-pearl features a peacock and
               peahen underneath a sakura tree in the front and the interior
               features birds of paradise. The interior doors are decorated with
               fishing boat motifs in gold lacquer.
