               Born in 1946 in Bengaluru, artist S
               Nandagopal was an influential figure
               in the Indian art world, particularly
               within the context of the Madras Art
               Movement. After earning  his Physics
               degree in 1966, he pursued his passion
               for fine arts, obtaining a diploma from   welding, and hammering, transforming
