Anish Kapoor, born in Mumbai, India in 1954, stands
as a prominent figure in the world of sculpture. He
pursued his art education in the UK, earning a BFA
from Hornsey College of Art and an MFA from
Chelsea School of Art and Design. Renowned
for his monumental public installations, Kapoor
also delves into smaller-scale sculptures, creating
works that offer a more intimate experience.
One of his most celebrated commissioned
installations is Cloud Gate, situated in Millennium creating captivating distortions while providing
Park, Chicago. This bean-like sculpture, inspired a seamless view. Each disc, with its unique
by liquid mercury, boasts a highly reflective treatment and finish, introduces distinctive
surface that distorts not only the park and its warps in the reflection, imbuing every piece with
surroundings but also the observers and the city individuality. Viewers find themselves contorted
skyline. Among his other notable large-scale and inverted in these reflective surfaces,
