Rameshwar Broota’s solemn imagery is a result of filtration and
erosion. He deftly extracts a compounded iridescent reflection
in his art. He painstakingly unearths the mortal presence of his
protagonist. Tedious minute scratches with a blade eventually
enable the character to resonate on the surface. The imagery is
overwhelming to the degree that the viewer is hypnotized and
the layered deftness of Rameshwar’s technique spellbinds the
surrounding space. The scraping exercise is not sporadic, but
is well defined and gets accomplished through premeditated
assaults on the canvas with surgical precision. Inspecting the
surface in order to delineate the scraping process proffers
individual theorem of angles and at times perpendicularly
striking. The monochromatic rendition of the subject in this
work is not abound with poignancy but is rather composed in
poised silence.
