                            Adorned in ragged clothing and bearing
                            hollow gazes against ominous black
                            backgrounds, the unkempt protagonists
                            of  these  Bikash  Bhattacharjee  canvases,
                            skillfully portrayed in a surrealist manner by
                            the artist, were emblematic of loneliness
                            and desolation.
