A VICTORIAN ENGLISH HALLMARKED SILVER SALVER

A large Victorian period silver salver, resting on four feet, with deep decorative
chasing in the centre. The surface is adorned with a broad, flat border intricately
engraved with floral patterns, leaves, and opposing scroll designs. It features a
shell pattern design, engraved with a royal coat of arms in the centre. This beautiful
piece was a gift by the magistrates of the North Riding of Yorkshire to Valentine
Kitchingman for his services as the treasurer of the association for 37 years,
presented to him on 14th October, 1829.
