Contemporary artist Phaneendra Nath Chaturvedi is
known for impressive large-scale paper works such as the
presented lot. These works usually feature faceless beings,
dressed in colourful attire, often skeletal in appearance.
These anthropomorphic creations are meant to be honest
depictions of what Chaturvedi truly believes them to be. Not
only do these works highlight the artifice of appearance but
the corruption that is underlying in every human’s existence.
