Niren Sengupta is an acclaimed Indian
painter from Bengal. He studied Science at
Calcutta University and got another degree
in Fine Arts from the Government College of
Art and Crafts, Kolkata. A former Principal of
College of Art, New Delhi, Niren found great
solace in painting and it soon turned into his
passion to express his chamber of thoughts
and emotions. His works are an expression
of his spiritual reflections and his innermost
language infused with beauty and serenity.

Sengupta is the founding member of ‘Gallery
26’ in Kolkata and also an Executive member
of the Academy of Visual Media, New Delhi.
He has showcased his works in several
solo and group exhibitions at prestigious
institutions and holds over 30 years of
teaching experience at both graduate and
postgraduate levels.

The artist has received several awards for
his works including the AIFACS Award; NBT
Award in New Delhi; Award for Humanity
Udayan Care; and DSCWOS. He continues to
work and live in New Delhi.
