Husain often depicted themes from Indian
mythology, history, and everyday life. During
his early years, he created movie posters and
illustrations. He also built and designed toys
for a toy company to earn additional income.
Husain’s works at the company typically
 reflected his fascination with everyday
objects and their ability to convey deeper
meanings. His works created during this time
would highly impact his career later as it first
began his fascination with wood works.

Creating toy inspired series and furniture later
on in life, he explored childhood nostalgia
and the whimsical side of art, incorporating
playful elements to create impactful artworks.
