Often called an ‘Alchemist of Dreams’, Sakti Burman creates
works that invite the viewers into a realm of fantasy or dream-
like universe inhibited by strange fantastical figures in luxuriant
settings. Suspended between the spheres of myth and reality,
this world melds empirical experiences and imagination.
Rendered with hues that are at once vivid and faded, the
captivating luminescent imagery evokes a sense of mythical
pantomime theatre where the characters, with their spellbound
gazes, are reminiscent of angels, and goddesses, harlequins,
and dryads.
