MOONFLASK VASES
The rare Japanese vases feature champlevé enamel work throughout the body with
scrolling lotus designs. The centre features birds in enamel and the handles are
designed as dragons.
Champlevé, a technique dating back to ancient times, involves carving or casting
recesses into a metal surface, which are then filled with vibrant enamel and fired for a
striking effect.
