Lot No. 04                                                     By 1925, Jamini Roy began to explore new artistic avenues,
                                                                drawing  inspiration  from  the  popular  bazaar  paintings  sold
                                                                near  Kolkata’s  Kalighat  temple. By  the  early  1930s,  he  had

                                                                often include elaborate female figures in dancing poses, such
