M F Husain had also created several works
based on dance as he was deeply influenced
by classical Indian dance forms, such as
Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi. These
influences are reflected in the grace and
fluidity of his compositions, as well as in the
use of traditional symbols and motifs. He
created his dance-inspired series by focusing
on the expression and emotion that could be
conveyed through dance, exploring the art
as a cultural symbol. He translated the visual
language by capturing the intensity, form and
passion of the performers.
