AN ENAMEL & EBONISED JEWEL CASKET
The drawers, doors and sides of the beautiful casket feature
enamel plaques depicting mythological scenes of Greek origin.
The case is supported by four enamel columns topped by four
musical fauns in each corner.
The centre of the body has two doors enclosing three drawers,
and the bottom has a single drawer. The top features an ormolu
figure of a cherub riding a swan and the body stands on four
bracket feet. The casket is a testament to the intricacies of
European craftsmanship.
