This impressive set of 67 volumes of ‘Marg’

and activist Mulk Raj Anand, alongside a group of
prominent artists, art historians, and architects,
Marg was established at a pivotal moment in India’s
history, just before its independence. Under Anand’s
editorial leadership, with assistance from Anil
de Silva and art advisor Karl Khandalavala, Marg
quickly became a cornerstone of scholarly discourse
in the visual arts.
The volumes are bound in half-leather with polished
tan spines and corners, complemented by marbled
paper-covered boards. The spines feature raised
bands, gilt lettering, and small decorative motifs.
